Located in Homerville, Georgia, Lee Container produces blowmolded plastic containers used in industries ranging from motor oil to agricultural crop protection products. The company was founded in 1989 and serves customers with both national and international operations. "Georgians for Manufacturing" is an effort to support Georgia’s industrial development by the "Quick Start Program", an arm of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education. The Department of Industry, Trade, and Tourism also sponsors "Georgians for Manufacturing". The two organizations sponsor Manufacturing Appreciation Week as an annual week-long recognition of manufacturing's contributions to the state. Lee Container was nominated for the award by Okefenokee Technical College, the City of Homerville, and the Clinch County Chamber of Commerce.
