12/27/99 -- Lee Container formally established an Internet presence in preparation for developing E-Commerce capabilities in the coming year.

According to Robert Varnedoe, Vice President Sales and Marketing, "We are getting a lot of requests from key customers to evolve our information technology systems to accomodate e-commerce transactions in the coming year. Establishing an Internet platform with our web site is the first step in that direction.
